Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters have gathered in San Franscisco, California, to try to block the USNS Harvey Milk, a US military vessel departing for the Middle East.
Several activists reportedly chained themselves to the gangway of the vessel.
The authorities refused to specify the exact destination of the vessel. But activists fear it might provide weapon supplies to the Israeli army.
According to the US Department of Defense, the ship is part of the “Navy’s Combat Logistics Force” and provides “fuel replenishment to Navy ships at sea”
