Gov. Newsom selects Laphonza Butler to fill Diane Feinstein’ seat on U.S. Senate

Governor Gavin Newsom made good on a promise to name a Black woman as to who would fill late U.S. Senator Diane Feinstein's seat on Sunday, naming Laphonza Butler, former advisor to Vice President Kamala Harris, to the position.
