The US conducted its first aid airdrop into besieged Gaza in response to the escalating humanitarian crisis exacerbated by an Israeli siege and the killing of Palestinians queuing for food.
Displaced Palestinians contend that airdropped aid is insufficient and urge the opening of land borders with Egypt for truck deliveries.
US officials say the joint operation with the Royal Jordanian Air Force delivered over 38,000 meals to southwestern Gaza and the town of Mawasi where 576,000 people are on the brink of famine, according to the UN.
