Turkey’s Borsa Istanbul starts day up 0.38%

ANKARA

Turkey’s benchmark stock index started the day up 0.38% or 389.67 points to open at 102,311.82 points on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index rose 0.70% to close the day at 101,922.15 points with a daily trading volume of 7.7 billion Turkish liras ($1.3 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 5.7630 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, versus 5.7550 at the midweek close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.3510, up from 6.3290, and one British pound traded for 7.1210 Turkish liras, compared to 7.1140.

One barrel of Brent oil was sold for $61.05 as of 10.15 a.m. local time (0715GMT) on Thursday.
