Spanish basketball powerhouse Real Madrid beat Turkey’s Fenerbahce Beko 81-77 late Thursday in the first game of the new season of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
Real Madrid’s Swedish forward Jeffery Taylor scored 19 points at WiZink Center in Madrid.
The Spanish team’s American forward Anthony Randolph tallied 15 points and five rebounds.
Real Madrid’s Argentine playmaker Facundo Campazzo scored 14 points against Fenerbahce Beko.
Campazzo also produced eight assists.
In addition, Real Madrid’s Spanish forward Rudy Fernandez played with 10 points.
Fenerbahce Beko star Nando De Colo produced 22 points but made seven turnovers.
The team’s American forward Derrick Williams scored 19 points and took 10 rebounds.
Williams’ Serbian teammate Nikola Kalinic scored 13 points.
Fenerbahce Beko’s next game will be against Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade in Serbia on Oct. 10.
The 2019 EuroLeague runners-up Anadolu Efes will take on Barcelona in this season’s first match on Oct. 4 at the Sinan Erdem Dome in Istanbul.
