Turkey’s Borsa Istanbul starts day 0.36% up

Turkey’s benchmark stock index started the day up 0.36% or 375.52 points to open at 103,884.74 points on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index dropped 0.35% to close the day at 103,509.22 points with a daily trading volume of 8.7 billion Turkish liras ($1.5 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 5.6900 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, versus 5.7140 at midweek close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.2400, down from 6.2580, and one British pound traded for 7.0110 Turkish liras, compared to 7.0350.

One barrel of Brent oil sold for $57.65 as of 9.45 a.m. local time (0745GMT) on Thursday.
