Anadolu Agency head visits Ethnosport Festival

ISTANBUL

Anadolu Agency is proud of being the global communication partner of Ethnosport Culture Festival, Director General Senol Kazanci said on Saturday.

Kazanci visited Anadolu Agency’s stand at the festival, which has a section of the agency’s brand war journalism training.

“I congratulate our friends, who organized this tent. Here we’re resurrecting our war journalism training,” he said.

Anadolu Agency’s war journalism program is conducted in collaboration with the Turkish Police Academy, Turkish Armed Forces, and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), the state development aid agency.

Kazanci said that he would tour the festival area with his family.

“I invite all Istanbulites, who thinks ‘Where should I take my children this weekend?’, to come and visit this festival,” he said.

The Ethnosport Culture Festival kicked off at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport on Thursday.

Organized by the World Ethnosport Confederation, the festival has been held for the fourth time this year with 16 nations participating, including guest country Argentina.

The festival will run through Oct. 6.

Nearly 1,000 athletes will compete in the festival in 12 traditional sports — including archery, oil wrestling, belt wrestling, mounted javelin throwing, mancala and horseback archery.

Apart from sports, children are taking part in 40 traditional children’s games and there are also 60 handicraft workshops.

The event is also presenting a dazzling array of traditional cuisines from across the globe for festival-goers to savor.
