Turkish stocks end Monday down 0.45%

ANKARA 

Turkey’s benchmark stock index ended the day down 0.45% to close at 102,993.20 points on Monday.

Starting the week at 103,294.05 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index dropped 470.32 points from 103,463.52 points at Friday’s close.

On a weekly basis, the benchmark index posted a 1.49% hike last week. At the beginning of this year, the BIST 100 stood around 89,000 points.

An ounce of gold sold for $1,501.00 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,510.30 at the previous close.

The price of Brent oil was $59.34 per barrel as of 5.30 p.m. local time (1430GMT) on Monday — with a day range of $58.03 to $59.47.

At the beginning of 2019, a barrel of Brent oil sold for around $53.
