ISTANBUL
Capital markets have to be improved for Turkey’s sustainable economic growth, the chairman of Turkish Capital Markets Association said on Thursday.
In the second day of a finance forum in Istanbul, Alp Keler said advancement of capital markets will positively contribute to the society, investors, companies and employees.
“The country needs transformation in three main areas — investment and partnership culture, widening companies’ point of view for capital markets and diversify capital market instruments — to develop its capital market,” Keler said.
He added that the financial centers of the countries, who have advanced capital markets, are on the top levels.
“This is a must for Istanbul Finance Center,” Keler noted.
Istanbul Finance Summit has been held under the theme of Financial Metamorphosis and Back to the Future on Oct. 9-10.
Officials, economists, businesspeople, and academics are giving speeches in 19 sessions during the tenth edition of the summit.
Last year, the summit hosted nearly 800 participants and 41 speakers from 23 countries.
