Russian president arrives in Saudi Arabia for talks

RIYADH

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Riyadh on Monday for talks with Saudi King Salman and his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Putin’s visit is part of a regional tour that will also take the Russian leader to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to the Russian Sputnik news agency, Putin’s talks in Saudi Arabia will include oil deals and tension in the Persian Gulf region.

Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said last week Putin’s discussions in the oil-rich kingdom would focus on the situation in the Middle East, the Gulf region, Syria and Yemen.

Monday’s visit is the second by Putin to Saudi Arabia since 2007.
