Europe, Mideast, African finance pros meet in Istanbul

ANKARA

A conference on leadership kicked off in Istanbul on Thursday, bringing together financial professionals from Europe and the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, according to a statement.

The regional Society Leadership Conference, held annually by the CFA Institute, a global association of investment professionals, is being hosted this year by the CFA’s branch in Istanbul, Turkey’s financial capital.

The three-day meeting is being attended by 170 finance professionals representing nearly 50 countries from the EMEA region and around 50 employees representing the CFA Institute.

The conference provides an environment for the development of regional cooperation as well as supporting the individual development of country representatives.

“CFA Institute believes that these activities will make significant contributions to the framework of the vision of Istanbul in becoming a regional financial center,” the statement said.

Boasting 200,000 members from 150 countries around the world, the CFA Institute operates with the mission of applying the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence in the investment industry.
