Lufthansa loses court bid to block cabin crew strike

BERLIN

German airline Lufthansa has failed to win a temporary injunction from a Frankfurt court to stop cabin crew strike scheduled for Thursday and Friday.

A company spokesperson told local media on Wednesday that Lufthansa was now filing an appeal against the decision of the Frankfurt Labour Court to prevent the strike.

“We are currently working at full speed on a special flight plan for Thursday and Friday which will be published on Wednesday,” the company said in a statement on its webpage.

Passengers who already booked on a Lufthansa flight to and from Frankfurt or Munich, with a departure on Nov. 7 or 8, were offered free rebooking.

The UFO labor union on Monday called for a 48-hour strike on Nov. 7-8 in a dispute over better pay and conditions.
