Turkish stocks go up at midweek close


Turkey’s benchmark stock index ended the day up 0.62% to close at 101,143.742 points on Wednesday.

Starting the day at 100,672.39 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index rose 618.42 points from 100,525.32 points at Tuesday’s close.

An ounce of gold sold for $1,485.65 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,502.00 at the previous close.

The price of Brent oil was around $63.17 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Wednesday.
