Football: Monchengladbach remain atop of Bundesliga

ANKARA

Borussia Monchengladbach managed to get three points to remain on top of the standings with 3-1 victory over Werder Bremen.

Monchengladbach’s Algerian defender Ramy Bensebaini scored a goal and their German forward Patrick Herrmann found the net twice.

Reigning champions Bayern Munchen hammered Borussia Dortmund 4-0, scoring with Robert Lewandowski (2), Serge Gnabry and Mats Hummels at Allianz Arena.

The runners-up RB Leipzig defeated Hertha Berlin 4-2 at away game as Freiburg beat Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 at home.

While Schalke 04 drew 3-3 with Fortuna Dusseldorf, the Turkish defender Ozan Kabak helped Schalke score a goal.

Meanwhile, Koln lost to Hoffenheim 2-1, after this defeat at home, German coach Achim Beierlorzer was sacked by Koln management.

Borussia Monchengladbach currently sit in the first spot with 25 points and Leipzig, who got 21 points, are behind the league leaders in the standings.
