NBA: Jokic hits game winner against Timberwolves in OT

Denver Nuggets’ Serbian player Nikola Jokic hit the game winner against Minnesota Timberwolves in over time to bring fourth consecutive victory to his team on Sunday.

Jokic continued his game winner performance, scoring the go-ahead 2-pointer with only 2.4 seconds left in over time for a 100-98 win over the Timberwolves.

In addition to game winner shot for his second consecutive game, Jokic was the highest scorer for Nuggets with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists.

Paul Millsap posted double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds as Will Barton posted 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Nuggets.

On the losing side, Karl-Anthony Towns produced 25 points with 16 rebounds and Andrew Wiggins scored 25 points.

The Nuggets improved to 7 wins and 2 losses in the season, while the Timberwolves dropped to 5 wins and 4 losses.

Raptors snap Lakers’ 7-game win streak

A short-handed Toronto Raptors team handed the Los Angeles Lakers their first loss in eight games, ending their 7-game winning streak on Sunday night.

Seven players scored in double digits for the Raptors, who played without their star point guard Kyle Lowry.

Pascal Siakam scored 24 points and Fred VanVleet scored 23 to lead the Raptors over the Lakers.

Lakers were up by 8 points at the half (60-52), but in the third quarter Raptors closed the gap (78-78) and managed to beat their opponent 113-104.

Lebron James’ 13 point-13 rebound-15 assist ‘triple-double’ performance came up short, while Anthony Davis’ led the Lakers with 27 points.

Furkan Korkmaz’s 17 points help 76ers win

In another match of the Sunday action, Furkan Korkmaz and the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Charlotte Hornets 114-106 to snap three game losing streak.

Korkmaz scored 17 points in 27 minutes to help 76ers get back to their winning ways, after dropping three games in a row.

76ers started the season perfect with 5 wins and zero losses, but three consecutive defeats cost them to drop to 5th seed in the Eastern Conference.

Hornets dropped to 4 wins and 6 losses, despite Cody Zeller’s 24 points and 7 rebounds.
