Due to an ankle injury late Tuesday, Liverpool’s Egyptian star Mohamed Salah will miss out on Egypt’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Kenya and the Comoros.
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) said on its website that Salah, 27, is not ready to play Kenya and the Comoros games, as he is undergoing medical tests.
Egypt will take on Kenya on Thursday at home but visit the Comoros on Monday.
Britain’s Daily Mail reported that Salah sustained “a recurrence of an ankle problem.”
The Liverpool regular faced the ankle injury in Sunday’s English Premier League match against Manchester City, which Liverpool won 3-1.
After doubling Liverpool’s lead in the 13th minute at Anfield Stadium, Salah had to be subbed out near the end of the match.
Salah is one of the key players for the Reds, having scored six goals in 11 league appearances this season.
Separately, since 2011 he has netted 41 goals in 67 appearances for Egypt.
