Turkey’s benchmark stock index started Thursday at 104,306.92 points with a daily drop of 0.50%, or 521.26 points.
On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index went up by 0.82% to close the day at 104,828.18 points with a daily trading volume of 9.5 billion Turkish liras ($1.6 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.7610 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, compared to 5.7530 at Wednesday’s close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.3400, versus 6.3370, and one British pound traded for 7.4070 Turkish liras, versus 7.4000 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $62.71 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
