The Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics continued to top respective conferences after beating their opponents late Friday.
The Lakers managed to beat the Sacramento Kings 99-97 at Staples Center, behind Lebron James’ clutch performance.
James scored 29 points and dished out 11 assists, while sinking both free throws with 5.5 seconds to go to give his team the winning lead.
Anthony Davis played with 17 points and 5 rebounds, while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope found some shooting rhythm with 16 points.
Kyle Kuzma and Alex Caruso combined for 23 points off the bench for the Lakers.
The Sacramento Kings, despite Buddy Hield’s 21 points on 6/11 three point shooting, could not get the job done in the late stretch.
Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 18 points off the bench, while Richaun Holmes chipped in 17 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for the Kings.
The Lakers improved to 10 wins and 2 losses in the season, continue to be at the top of the Western Conference.
– Celtics late push beat Warriors
The Boston Celtics, top of the Eastern Conference, managed to get past the Golden State Warriors, bottom of the Western Conference, in a hard-fought matchup late Friday.
The Celtics, being down 97-92 with 2:37 to go, went on a 10-0 run and led the match 102-97 with 20 seconds to go. They managed to hold on and won the match 105-100.
Jayson Tatum was the high scorer for the Celtics, he scored 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, while Kemba Walker scored 20 points, got 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
Jaylen Brown also chipped in with 22 points and 8 rebounds in the victory.
Celtics improved to 10 wins and 1 loss in the season, while Warriors dropped to 2 wins and 11 losses.
