Eliminated Besiktas seeking revenge versus Bratislava

ANKARA

Turkey’s Besiktas eye Thursday’s Slovan Bratislava match to take a revenge after losing the first game 4-2 in the UEFA Europa League Group K.

Besiktas are hopeless for the last 32 stage in the Europa League as the team has been eliminated from the tournament, after losing to Braga 3-1 on Nov. 7.

The Istanbul club bottomed the Group K as they lost all their four games.

Slovan Bratislava are currently in the third place, having 4 points but the Slovakian team should win Thursday’s match in Istanbul to keep their hopes alive for the knockout stage.

Portugal’s Braga currently top Group K with 10 points.

They were followed by English club Wolverhampton Wanderers, which earned 9 points in four matches.

In the Europa League, top two teams in each group will advance to the round of 32.

Jeremain Lens, Dutch midfielder of Besiktas, is suspended for the match against Slovan Bratislava at the Vodafone Park. He was sent off in his team’s previous game against Braga.

The Black Eagles will take on Slovan Bratislava at home on Thursday, and the match will start at 8.55 local time (1755GMT).
