Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index started the day at 107,300.11 points. As of the daily close, it lost 222.49 points from Thursday’s close of 107,300.11 points, with a daily trading volume of 7.9 billion Turkish liras (some $1.4 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.7510 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, compared to 5.7680 at Thursday’s close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.3230, versus 6.3540, and one British pound traded for 7.4280 Turkish liras, versus 7.4570 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $61.58 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
