Shane Larkin recently drops 49 points against Bayern Munich to set highest scoring record in a single EuroLeague game
Shane Larkin, the U.S. star of Turkish basketball powerhouse Anadolu Efes, was named November’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) by the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague on Monday.
“His was a perfect month of basketball. And by the time that Shane Larkin capped it off with a new Turkish Airlines EuroLeague scoring record, there was no doubt that the 27-year-old Anadolu Efes Istanbul guard was the only choice for MVP of November,” EuroLeague said on its website to honor Larkin.
“Larkin shattered the EuroLeague’s mark for single-game scoring, with 49 points, and tied the record for three-pointers made, with 10, in a resounding 104-75 victory over FC Bayern Munich,” it noted.
Larkin broke a EuroLeague record by scoring the most points in a single game Friday at Sinan Erdem Dome in Istanbul.
The previous record for points in a game was 41, held by Montepaschi Siena guard Bobby Brown (2013), Efes Pilsen center Kaspars Kambala (2002), Carlton Myers from PAF Bologna (2001) and Peristeri’s Alphonso Ford (2001).
Anadolu Efes won all their five games with the helps of Larkin last month, the statement added.
This season Anadolu Efes had 9-2 win/loss record to lead the EuroLeague’s regular season standings.
A former NBA player, Larkin has averaged 22 points, 3.5 assists and 3.3 rebounds in the EuroLeague’s 2019-2020 season.
