LOS ANGELES, CA – The Association of Turkish Americans of Southern California (ATASC) is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated return of the California Turkish Festival for its third consecutive year. Scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 9th, 2024, the festival promises a vibrant celebration of Turkish culture, cuisine, and entertainment at the picturesque Shoreline Aquatic Park in Long Beach.
Building on the resounding success of previous editions, organizers are gearing up to welcome over 7000 attendees from across Southern California for a day filled with culinary delights, live performances, and family-friendly activities. Festival Chairperson Nilay Senel-Nylund extends a warm invitation to all, emphasizing the event’s focus on unity and diversity.
“This year’s festival is set to be our most spectacular yet,” says Senel-Nylund. “We invite our neighbors from all communities to join us for a day of festivities, as we share the richness of Turkish heritage through food, music, and more.”
The festival will showcase a diverse array of Turkish cuisine, including beloved favorites such as doner, kebabs, baklava, Turkish coffee, tea and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to savor these delectable offerings while immersing themselves in the lively atmosphere of traditional Turkish street foods.
Entertainment will be a highlight of the event, with a lineup of talented musicians and performers gracing the stage throughout the day. Musicians set to perform include Ali Tolga, Burak Besir, AKM Turkish Music Chorus, San Diego Turkish Music Chorus, and Group Anatolia Folk Dance. Additionally, attendees can look forward to captivating performances by belly dancer Laman Museyava and DJ Volkan Duygun.
As part of this year’s festivities, the festival will shine a spotlight on Cappadocia, one of Turkey’s most enchanting destinations known for its stunning rock formations known as “fairy chimneys.” Festival-goers will have the opportunity to learn more about this magical region.
The California Turkish Festival is made possible thanks to the generous support of sponsors, including California Language Academy, Gold Mogul, Swan Bitcoin, GlobalB Law Firm, and Majd Law Firm, as well as individual donors.
